Cub Scouts Cub Scouting, the first level of Boy Scouts of America, means “doing.” Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting – citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.
Our Cub Scout Pack 456 is chartered by the parish Knights of Columbus Council 13005 for boys entering the first grade as Tigers, second grade as Wolves, third grade as Bears, and fourth and fifth grades as Webelos. Cub Scouts is a year-round family program of activities, such as hiking, biking, bowling, skating, overnighters on the USS Lexington & at NASA, family campouts, rope tying, Pinewood Derby, Space Derby, Rain Gutter Regatta, Food for Families, Catholic religious medal programs, Scouting Mass, etc.
Membership is open to any boy 6 – 10 years of age and his parent. Parent participation is required for Tigers and encouraged and welcomed at all levels. Boys are required to wear a uniform and have their own achievement book for their level of scouting. All parent volunteers are required to submit an application for a background check and attend the “Protecting God’s Children” workshop as part of the Diocesan Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policy as well as the BSA online Youth Protection Training.
Weekly den meetings and monthly pack meetings are held at the church and run by parent leaders. Come join the fun!
