MORE ABOUT JYG
Junior Youth Group is a middle school faith formation program at St. Jerome Parish dedicated to bringing 6 th, 7 th & 8 th grade students closer to Christ through a relational ministry and faith-centered fun activities. The young adults, parents, and ministers who lead the youth group are committed to combining faith, sacrament, education, communication and fun in order to share Christ’s message of honest love. We believe that Jesus calls each of us to an extraordinary life, one that puts Him as our highest priority. Among other resources, JYG utilizes the Middle School curriculum published by Lifeteen called EDGE.
Our goals for the St. Jerome Junior Youth Group program are as follows:
To speak to the hearts of our youth so they can experience Jesus in a way that God has always intended.
To develop strong bonds and create a positive experience of the Catholic Church for early adolescents.
To assist middle school youth in gaining an understanding and appreciation of what the Catholic Church teaches and believes.
To incorporate the Catholic Church's vision of social justice and peace into the everyday life of pre-adolescents.
To develop an identity in middle school youth and in the EDGE program as being a vital and visual presence within the parish community.
